Congratulations to our interns who received Amentum scholarship awards. Of the 16 awards given across Amentum this year, two were awarded to UCOR interns. The awardees are:
- Sophia Kim, Technology Development intern (Carnegie Mellon University – Mechanical engineering): $2,500
- Kellen Hurley, Waste Programs intern (University of Wisconsin-Madison – Biological Systems Engineering): $1,000
The mission of the Amentum scholarship contest is to give back to the interns who have contributed to the company during their time at Amentum and increase students’ interest in working for Amentum.
Scholarships were awarded based on experience, a letter of recommendation from their mentor, letters of interest, and a bonus question. These included grading on student’s high degree of enthusiasm/interest in internship placement, demonstrating the ability to apply academic knowledge/technical background to internship assignment, exhibiting the ability to think critically, analytically, and creatively, and overall impact of applicant.
